           Closing a chapter: Rowe Training and Consulting’s journey
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           It's with a heavy heart that I share with you that Rowe Training and Consulting is no longer an RTO.  That is we will no longer be delivering or assessing students/trainees in gaining their qualifications.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           It’s been an incredible ride, with many moments of joy, excitement, often overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds, and invaluable learning for our small team. 18 years its been a big part of my life. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           To all our students/trainees and services/centres and other supporters: Thank you. Your belief and trust in us has been the driving force behind our every step. We have been committed to ensuring a smooth transition for any ongoing Trainee’s wishing you all the best.  To our dedicated small team, now and all past staff. Your passion and hard work have been the core of our journey. I’m grateful beyond words for every moment.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           While this chapter ends for myself and Rowe Training, the bonds and memories created will endure. I’ll always be a dedicated supporter of ECEC in the NT.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           I’m eternally grateful to everyone that was involved especially my family.
          &#xD;

           Workplace Supervisors - needing support?

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           We are always looking for your feedback and so we have been looking at the Workplace Supervisors Guide and reviewing it for next year. Only to find when asking for feedback that a number of Supervisors are very stressed, have no time, and are over trying to support their Trainee’s.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            This made me start thinking how is it that some Supervisors are finding everything going well and others are not.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h3&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           "So I found out what’s working"
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ol&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             Set up a relationship at the beginning.
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Ensure the Trainee has access to everything electronically they need at the Centre e.g. policies and procedures, job descriptions, ECA Code of Ethics etc.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Set aside a time every fortnight be it 15 or 20 minutes to check in.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             After induction continue to role model behaviours that you want the Trainee to adopt and acknowledge when they do.
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Set up a list of tasks to demonstrate at least 3 times, things like supervision, safety checks, food safety, hand washing etc. ( Ask the trainer for an example of tasks that align with each Module the Trainee is learning)
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Remember its not only children that learn by making mistakes.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Ask the Trainee what they have learnt not what assessment are they working on.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             Give the Trainee’s acknowledgment often (every week)
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            When the Trainee has a question about a Written Assessment or a Workplace Task always the first reply is what are you thinking? And the second reply is have you checked all your learning resources or asked the trainer for an example of what they are looking for in that task?
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Take up some coaching for yourself 
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ol&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

           We have been looking at the research on how Educators learn best and which training models suit ECEC and have been successful interstate.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             ﻿
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Specifically at the
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;a href="https://gowrievictoria.org.au/coaching-and-mentoring/" target="_blank"&gt;&#xD;
      
           Gowrie in Victoria.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/a&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

            This has led us to taking on a formal
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Coaching approach
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            with all our
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Trainees and their Supervisors.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           So what's is the difference between standard Workplace Training and Workplace Coaching/Mentoring and Training
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           What is standard workplace training,
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            the trainer comes to see the Trainee on the job mainly to support assessment and complete assessment. And the Trainee is often left to complete most of the learning themselves with the Centre. And as there are no classes some Trainees mistakenly feel they have gained all the knowledge and skills they need. But the research is showing that those that have trained that way may be missing out on gaining the  knowledge and understanding the complexities of Child Development or to be able to fully develop the skills to  implement the EYLF practices.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Effective coaching begins with developing relationships with Trainees and Supervisors/Services. Taking a strengths based approach supporting Educators to set SMART goals. We will
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            identify strengths, existing knowledge and expertise
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            as well as opportunities for growth. We then look at what strategies will work best for the individuals. This could take shape as reflective conversations, role modelling, instructional demonstrations, researching and learning together and supporting the learning through questioning and positive feedback.  Does this sound familiar? Our coaching methodology has similarities of
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Intentional teaching strategies a
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            s defined in the NQF.  These strategies are supported by adult learning theories.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

           We had our Graduation Ceremony for Classes of 2022 at the Airport Resort in Darwin Friday 13th of May, it was great to celebrate with those Students that could attend.  We are very confident of all our new Graduates skills and knowledge and know that those families, children and young people they are working with, will appreciate the high quality of education and care they will provide. We would also like to thank all the dedicated Supervisors, you are amazing leaders, thank you for spending your time to mentor the students and role modelling high standards of work practices

           In response to coronavirus (COVID-19), the Northern Territory (NT) Government and the Australian Government are jointly funding a range of courses to give you practical skills for work.  These courses are open to Territorians who meet the relevant eligibility criteria.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Rowe Training has been approved to provide three courses under the
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           Job Trainer Funding.

           CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           CHC50121 Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           You can apply if you are:

            an NT resident
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

            an Australian citizen or have permanent residency
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;

            have the skills and capabilities to undertake training and to actively engage in employment.

           You can apply if you're:

            a job seeker - an individual who is out of work
           &#xD;

            receiving an income support payment - find out more on the Services Australia website

            underemployed - employed on a casual or part time basis, and working less than 35 hours per week, and willing and able to work additional hours
