Diploma of Business (Frontline Management) BSB 51004

This qualification is recognised in industry to be deemed a Coordinator/Supervisor, Director, Project Officer or Program Manager.

It is expected that students will have a good knowledge of english literacy and numeracy and information technology skills. There is also an expectation of previous employment, vocational skills in teamwork and small group/team supervision, experience in work/project planning, and quality assurance/continuous improvement.

Assessment strategies are negotiated planned and implemented after consultation with the client group in keeping with RTO standards.

Current courses are offered via a mixed mode of face to face workshops and self paced study. Students attend a full day workshop approx once every 4 weeks and are expected to complete studies and assessment tasks/projects over the following 4 weeks to hand in at the next class. Students purchase a text book that covers all units of competency and acts as a useful resource in completion of assessment tasks, and is utilised to complete activities in class. (Management Theory and Practice by Kris Cole 4th Edition)

The course timetable can be catered to suite your preferences. For instance if you have 4 or 5 supervisors all wishing to participate in professional development and perhaps 2 or 3 that wish to complete a nationally recognised qualification we will make up a course program to suit your organsational needs. This course is usually completed within 12 -18 months but can be offered to a customised group in a shorter period for example 10 days spread over 3 months if the organisation has a need to upskill potential Coordinators, Supervisors and/or Managers.

Learners will be supported via email, phone and face to face contact. Learners will have access to their facilitator before, during and after the course to assist with assessment and/or any of the course material.

All candidates who complete this Diploma of Business (Frontline Management) have the required academic pre-requisites to enter into other areas within the Business Services Training Package at Advanced Diploma level. This qualification can be completed by an Assessment Only pathway or as a Training and Assessment Pathway

The course is made up of eleven units of competency 8 core units and 3 elective units the elective units are chosen through consultation, to best meet the client group needs.

In order to deliver and assess skills and knowledge around central themes within this qualification, units within this qualification have been clustered together for delivery and assessment. This avoids repetition and duplication of content for delivery and assessment.
